Thoracic Endoscopy

He contributes to the programme of the annual congress « Belgian Pneumology Days » with a dedicated session and organizes a bi-annual international symposium on the state-of-the-art and technical innovations in the field.

He also organizes an annual workshop on basic endoscopy training – Endoscopy Introduction Day – which is held in the beginning of October. This interuniversity workshop is dedicated to fellows from all national universities starting their training in pulmonology. All university centers take turns in organizing the workshop which is supported by the BeRS. All members of the working group (affiliated to a university or regional hospital) are free to participate as a tutor.

The most recent scientific collaboration of the working group is dedicated to transbronchial lung cryobiopsy in which different workgroup members work on a registry in order to map the national activities and outcomes.

Several group members collaborated on the Belgian ELVR project (BEVA) which recently lead to the reimbursement of endobronchial valves for ELVR.
